A few commonly asked questions.
I'm a home buyer, should I invest in an inspection?
Buying a home is an important investment!
Not all homes are created equal, so don’t be caught off guard by not fully knowing the condition of the property. Whether it is your home, condo, or investment property, have it inspected!
Conducted by a specially trained and completely objective inspector, Lake Houston Inspections provides a full analysis of the property’s condition such as identifying non-functioning systems, damaged building components, safety issues and the quality of many installations. These inspections are not appraisals or municipal inspections, which verify code compliance, but they are descriptions of the property’s current condition and indication of what may need repair or replacement.
The home was built just a few years ago, do I need an inspection?
Definitely!
Unfortunately, most new properties have more defects than structures built 20 years ago. Many homes have warranties on them that few people know about. Due to cost cutting and lack of quality workmanship found in newer home construction, the need for an inspection is absolutely necessary.
How long does it take to complete a home inspection?
A thorough home inspection can take anywhere from an hour to several hours. The length of the inspection will depend on the size, location and condition of the structure being inspected.
What does a home
inspection cover?
A home inspection will include a roof and chimney inspection, an inspection of the fireplace to make sure it is functioning properly, a check for plumbing problems, inadequate or inferior electrical systems. We will also inspect structures, foundations, heating and cooling, appliances and inspections for insurance, drainage and grading.
